Michael is the chairperson of the Trust. He has a teaching and counselling background and has always had a strong interest in the wellbeing of others. Family, friends, colleagues, music, the outdoors and a bit of travel are what make him tick. He is also a tragic sports fan who is way past taking part but enjoys following almost any sport. He, like his fellow trustees, is highly motivated to make sure the Trust can provide quality mental health advice and social work support for vulnerable people from both kura we support, plus any other initiatives to support those in need.
Rowan is the Treasurer of the Trust and the Principal of Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College. As a Health and Physical Education teacher, Rowan has a particular interest in the wellbeing of students. Before being Principal, Rowan led Student Wellbeing at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa. Outside of work Rowan likes getting out and about for a good walk in a nice location, catching up with people for coffee and has a very recent interest in pickleball. The work with the Trust is very rewarding in that it is targeting funding at those that need the wellbeing interventions the most.
Anita has a teaching background having worked in a range of schools in Aotearoa. Anita believes that students thrive in education when they feel emotionally and physically safe and well. She is particularly proud of being on the Waipapa Trust Board, as this provides practical support to make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families.
